These two days I have just visited the two cities with two different but famous universities, Oxford and Cambridge. It’s really great to walk along the road, finding those shops are squeezed between the colleges. Of course I’m not Zhi-mo Xu, thus I just join the punting tour in River Cam. instead of working it out myself.
I know my trip is full of movies, where ‘Pride/Bride and Prejudice’ and ‘Harry Potter’ dominate. Besides, history (of course UK has lots of historical castle and palace) also takes part. However I cannot stop walking into bookstore and CD stores, although I haven’t bought any thing (really worry about my backpack)…really terrible.
These days I was frustrated by the UK trains. I have actually checked the timetable 1 week ago when I left Hong Kong. Initially I planned to visit Stonehenge and Bath Spa yesterday, however when I arrived London Waterloo station on 7:58am, planning to catch the train to Salisbury (near Stonehenge) on 8:15am, I found that the train was going to leave on 8:00am instead. After I observed the train leaving the station, I started my plan B, going to London Paddington station to see if there is any train to Bath Spa. Unluckily, even claiming that number of trains to Bath Spa approaches 32 per day, I just couldn’t find a single train to Bath Spa within 2 hours. Thus I visited Oxford instead finally.
Hopefully I can deal with those problem thoroughly…
